Unfortunately, the year begins without Drali. It is a great sorrow because we have lost a friend.
All of his stories remain, which we will keep fondly, and Alexander, who received the baton, will continue the work according to the teaching of "Pep."
So many people put their heads inside the workshop and greeted the clothier: "How is Drali doing?" and he " Giuvinot….la va ben…". But then a little moan about leg pain was always there.
He wasn't taking a single pill and was as healthy as a horse thanks to 3 Campari a day, served along with all-you-can-eat salami and gorgonzola. As all proper doctors advise....Ciao Pep!
When there was a newly finished chassis he would pick it up and his eyes would light up, like a child with a new toy. He would look at it and study its welds.... And then like a 20-year-old he would begin to finish the loom with the file with a unique rhythm and eagerness.
Drali was an artist in the workshop. One glance was enough for him to know on the fly what to do, and like a surgeon he would call for the right instrument, which Alessandro would hand out sveltely...Listening to the sound of the hammer he would study the ailing frame and pronounce the diagnosis in strict Milanese.
As the artist that he was, he reluctantly agreed to work with an assistant at his side. However, Alexander's patience and good heart convinced good Pep to pass on the art to one of his successors.
